AGV GT-Veloce: the sport-touring helmet

The AGV GT Veloce is the premium sport-touring helmet of the Italian brand. AGV has tamed its racing helmets to create a helmet that offers a wealth of sporty sensations on the road without sacrificing some comfort that most radical models do not offer.

Shell

The term GT derives from the Italian 'Gran Turismo' concept that began to be applied to sportscars that were able to cover long distances without problems. And this is the spirit that AGV has sought in its GT Veloce, adapting the basis the of advanced Pista GP and Corsa W design, two very sporting helmets, for a much more touring oriented use, designed to make long mileages in road at a good pace.

For this reason we find many similarities between them, as in the outter shell design and its sports aerodynamic lines. The main material is a triple fiber composite made of carbon, kevlar and fiberglass, a solution also used in the Corsa W. The hull weight is 1,300 grams for a size MS, a light figure for a sport-touring helmet.
Ventilation

GT Veloce's ventilation system is called 'Integrated Ventilation System'. Here ventilation ducts are directly integrated into the shell. Thus, the space between the outer shell and the EPS is minimal for greater security.

This IVS design has three top air intakes, all featuring a 'on/ off' closing system. The intakes lead the air to the two rear exits which do not have any closure - being always open - thus reinforcing its sportier side. In the chin zone we have a double air intake also with on-off type closing system that is manipulated from the inside.

Screen

The AGV GT Veloce Race-2 screen offers a wide field of view. It has anti-scratches treatment, as well as incorporating pivots for the installation of ear-Off sheets or anti-fog Pinlock, neither coming standard with the helmet. A rubber inner crown tops the set to increase insulation and a nosecover is included and already installed as standard. In addition, the helmet is compatible with the new AGVisor system.
The closing of the screen is by front button, a system that ensures an absolute closure, one of the best on the market. To remove the Race 2 screen, AGV has equipped this helmet system X-tra Quick Release System, which requires no tools and allows quick and easy removal.

Interior and fastener

It is inside where we find the touring side of the GT Veloce, since the padding is made in microperforated Lycra foam and with Dry-Comfort fabric in a compact arrangement, which holds very thight our head and offering a confortable touch overall. A micro-mesh covers the upper spaces between the padding and EPS.

The arrangement of the foam enables installation of AGV's intercom Share (not included as standard). The padding is fully removable and washable, and both Lycra as the fabric Dry-Comfort have anti-bacterial treatment. At the bottom we can see that the GT Veloce has standard chinguard. The fastener of the helmet remains committed to a dual ring, the safest on the market.

In short, the AGV GT Veloce is a great choice if you are looking for a sport-touring helmet with style and with a strong character or whether you are looking for AGV helmet but you consider the Pista GP and Corsa W too radical for your riding.
