AGV K-5: success on the road

The road helmet AGV K-5 is the last evolution from the Italian manufacturer. Coming next 2015, the new K-5 has come to our hands and that is why we offer you, exclusively, all the features of a helmet that has been called to write part of the motorbike history.

A sharp lines remind us that this is a sports helmet designed for the road, where versatility is its best weapon. Leaving aside their brothers Pista GP, Corsa and GT Veloce, with clear sportive genes, the new AGV K-5 could be considered a helmet of the sport-touring segment.

General view of the AGV K-5

Shell

The shell has been made with multi-composite fibers. AGV offers two different shell sizes, while the interior shell, made with EPS material, has four different sizes. Thanks to this, the helmet provides size optimization to each user. We cannot forgot the analysis fabrication system that use AGV when designing and constructing a new helmet: it is called Finite System Analysis, and the design method departs from the interiors, finishing to the outer shell, giving all the importance to the user's comfort and protection.

Visor

The visor of the AGV K-5 is called GT2 o GT2-1 (depending of the size) and it is made with polycarbonate resistant to the scratches and with ISV treatment, that offers 100% UV protection. As many others AGV helmets, the K-5 offers anti-fog treatment in the visor and also we find a ventilation system for an optimum ventilation in the area of the visor.

The release system of the visor, patented by AGV, allows a fast and easy way to replace the visor without using any kind of tool. It is called XQRS (X-tra Quick Release System). The GT2 visor is available in Motocard in many colors.

One interesting detail is the sun visor incorporated (called ISV system) that can be adjusted comfortably with the mechanism placed on the left side, a small lever that allow us to activate or remove it easily and in a very fast way. This provides to the helmet a very versatile profile, for day and night driving.
Ventilation
The K-5 has three main ventilation inlets located in the front area and one extra on the chin, and two main outputs on the rear, all of them very integrated in the helmet and designed for an optimal ventilation.

We can manipulate easily the air entrances with the gloves on, while the chin entrance has its mechanism located inside the chin area.
Interiors and closure

The interior is made of 3D, with the Dry-Lex system, that mantains the internal area dry and fresh. It has made with an hygienic treatment and is fully removable for cleaning, and so are the breath deflector and the windproof chinstrap.

The closure system is a double "D" system, unlike the K-4 EVO, that it was micrometric. AGV has chosen to do so, since the double buckle is the safest way and the only approved for track riding, giving a new territory to the K-5 and thus increasing its versatility.

Other Features
The helmet has been designed to be optionally equipped with the communication system Share System.
Due to the popularity of K-4 Evo, AGV has chosen to offer more sizes in the K-5: in addition of the XS, S, L, XL and XXL available, the brand is committed to offering size M into two other M size variants: MS (medium-small) and ML (medium-large). Thus, surely we will find a K-5 to our measure.
In paragraph aesthetic, the AGV K-5 offers for its launching to the market 18 different colors, three of them are solid colors and 15 different graphs.
