The Alpinestars Andes Drystar is a textile jacket designed for wearing all year round, but especially in the spring, autumn and winter, offering the warmth needed when riding.
The Andes mountain range crosses South America from North to South and has very different weather depending on the specific area where we find ourselves. The temperature variation is very high and that is why Alpinestars wanted to give the name of the Andes to one of the most versatile jackets we can find in the market: the Andes Alpinestars Drystar motorbike jacket.
The Andes Drystar Alpinestars is a textile jacket designed to be worn all year round, although its main objective is focused on providing the necessary warmth in the coldest months, as well as in Spring or Autumn. This jacket is made of Polyester 600, a material that offers great durability and excellent resistance to abrasion. Inside we find a waterproof lining named Drystar, which offers 100% impermeability and an optimum transpiration. This lining is attached to the inside of the jacket and is not removable.

Moreover, we have a removable thermal liner, whose goal is to provide all the warmth we need during the winter season or in times of great temperature variation between day and night. This long sleeved lining is easily removable thanks to a zip and buttons placed on the sleeves. So we have before us a versatile jacket that can efficiently adapt to changing climatic situations. The thermal liner can be folded and stored easily.
Touring and Adventure
The Alpinestars Andes Drystar has genes from both the adventure and touring segments, where riding comfort is an essential for this jacket. An example of this are the many pockets incorporated: 5 outside pockets; 4 in the front (2 of them waterproof) and one in the lower back, large and useful if we wish to stash the thermal liner.
We also note that the Alpinestars Andes Drystar jacket has a studied ventilation system, which is composed of air intakes placed near the shoulder area and two air extractors in the back that optimize the regulation of the air flow. All of them can be adjusted by zip closures.
We can adjust a frontal flap to optimize air flow
In the same section of riding comfort, the jacket features pre-curved sleeves and elastic panels (on elbows and waist) for increased mobility. We can also adjust the jacket's waist and the sleeve thanks to buttons and strap adjustments. At the end of the sleeves we have a Velcro adjustment to optimize the ventilation of the jacket. As a detail, we highlight the smooth finish of the neck area, which offers a nice touch and the ability to lower a few inches into the neck area when warmer situations require a better air inlet.

Regarding protection, the Alpinestars Andes Drystar jacket features removable and certified Bio Armor protections on shoulders and elbows. We also find compartments with foam protectors on the inside of the chest and back areas, which can be replaced by Alpinestars Bionic Chest protectors -in chest area- and Alpinestars Bio Armor Back -in the back-. These two protectors are not included with the jacket, and must be purchased separately.
Finally, note that the jacket incorporates reflective inserts located on the front, sleeves and back for an enhanced visibility in low light situations, plus practical inside pockets. The Alpinestars Andes has a zip that connects the jacket with the pants of the same model. This jacket also has the lady version for the female public.
