The HJC is the evolution of the FG-17 and this helmet also features fiber materials on its shell, but thsi time it also has a sunvisor integrated.
The outer shell is made in advanced fibreglass composite. This means that the shell features a network of crossed layers mixing latest generation Kevlar with fibreglass. And thanks to the use of CAD technology in its design, means that HJC is capable to do a helmet that offers a great ergonomic and fitment for our own comfort.
The design is very clean, with the shell having a strong rounded lines while we find a more sharp ending profile in the chin zone, looking for a better aerodynamic flow. The overall weight stands at 1400 grams, a very good valour for a helmet with integrated sun visor.
In this photo we can appreciate the overall FG-ST rounded lines.
The channelling system, codenamed ‘ACS’ by the brand, is the result from the FG-ST development in the wind tunnel. There’re two frontal air intakes that canalise the air to the inner EPS, and we can close or open by an “on/off” lock. Air goes through the inner to the rear spoiler four exits, eliminating humidity and sweat form the inside.

To fight against the condensation there’s also a twin air intake in the chin, also with the ‘on/off’ type closing system.
The visor, 3D designed, have 95% UV rays proof, also scratch resistant treatment and includes Pinlock 100% Max Vision system, the most advanced in the marked that guarantees a total condensation free screen.
One of the main features of the screen is the central blocking lock: in order to open the screen we must push the button, so the system assures not desired opening movements.

We can dismount easily the visor thanks to the patented RapidFire system that works pressing a cam (situated on each side), which liberates the visor.
Another FG-ST strong point is the tinted integrated sun visor, also easily dismountable. The inverted opening system is situated in the left side, and is a big one, facilitating this way its handling.
The inner padding has a sporty look, with microperforated fabric and big grooves for big transpiration, thus complementing the helmet ventilation system.
All the inner padding features Silvercool technology, like in most HJC products, that allows for a superior humidity evacuation and odour free interior thanks to the antibacterial fabrics. Cheek and top padding is totally removable and washable.
The inner EPS (left) features holes for the ventilation and the sporty padding complements the inner overall air flow.
The FG-ST has double d-ring, the most secure system and also the only one homologated for track use. The chin guard is included, like the breath guard.
Because of its sobriety lines, maybe the HJC FG-ST doesn’t catch the eye at first look. But if we consider its price -250€ in the basic colours – and that includes integrated sun visor and Pinlock system, then it put himself into the shortlist of most buyers: it’s a perfect helmet for everyday use, because with a small price we can get a versatile helmet.
