We can define the Schuberth C3 family as one of the sportiest convertible helmets in the market. Today we are going to analyze the Schuberth C3 Basic, a helmet that offers a good value for money.
The Schuberth C3 Basic is a helmet which shell has been designed to offer a great aerodynamic, very similar to the sportiest fullface helmets we can find on the market. The shell has been made with carbon fiber, fiberglass and resins, a mixture that offers an excellent resistance in an event of a fall and a great light weight. This structure and its construction process has been called S.T.R.O.N.G.

The internal shell has been made with Expanded Polystyrene (or EPS), a material that offers a great absortion in an event of an impact.
We are talking about a convertible helmet, so we can move the chin upwards and downwards, so we have a jet or a fullface helmets, depending of thye each moment needs. If we push the red button placed on the chin, we will unlock the chin according to get a Jet helmet. The lock of the chin is one of the most safe we can find on the market.

The C3 Basic has a main air entrance with two air inlets placed in the shell's helmet, with a. There is another one placed on the chin, to avoid the mist on the visor. The mechanism of the shells inlet has three modes (closed, mid-open and fully open), while the chin inlet is an on-off mechanism. Both mechanisms can be operated with the gloves on.

Shield and visor
The main visor is called SV-1 and it has been designed to offer a great field of view. It features on its upside a small turbulators, which reduce the noise of the air, specially when the visor is opened. This shield is easily removable and without any tool, thanks to the EasyChange system.
One of the Schuberth's C3 Basic main features is the sunvisor placed on its shell, which can be operated by a cam placed in the left side of the shell, easy to find and intuitive to operate. The visor is made of polycarbonate and it has antiscratch treatment, apart from protecting from the UV rays.
The SV-1 shield once opened lets us to see the sunvisor integrated on the helmets' shell.
The C3 Basic is a helmet that features a padding named CoolMax. This padding includes a ventilation system in which we can change the air we want to get in, depending of the season and the outside temperatures. This padding also has antiallergic and antibacterial properties, can be removed easily and are washables as well. (Schuberth reccomends hand wash).

The Schuberth C3 Basic has the micrometric closure, named MicroLock, while the helmet has reflective elements for being seen in low light situations. Furthermore, Schuberth has designed this helmet for an excellent isolation, limitating the noise. The German brand assures that the noise level inside the helmet will not exceed 84 dB at a speed of 100 Km/h on a faired bike.
The helmet also features the Anti Roll Off System (A.R.O.S.), a system which protects us from the mismatch of the helmet, always when the chin is in fullface position.
As additional elements, we can get the communication system SRC System, designed specially for this helmet. Despite the Schuberth C3 Pro includes a Pinlock layer, the Schuberth C3 Basic does not, but the helmet is prepared for including it, so we can get one as aditional element if the mist is a big problem for us.
